Mews: The Musical! First Reading at The Tank

In their second musical outing, Ertman & Mathusek partner with playwright Paul Hufker to adapt his play Mews into a full-length musical. The musical will be directed by Tank Artistic Director, Meghan Finn, with future readings and production TBD.

54 Below Debut of Alone: In Concert!

Alone performed for a sold-out crowd at the acclaimed 54 Below on May 21, 2023. Featuring Broadway talents Taylor Iman Jones, Zach Noah Piser, Claire Kwon, and Kim Onah, as well as other stellar cast members from the Concept Album, Alone received enthusiastic acclaim from a crowd that included Tony winners, influencers, and casting agents (including a shout out from Pearson Casting! Thanks to them for the kind words!)

Picardee: Now on Spotify

(Mostly) a capella band, Picardee, featuring John Ertman, Joseph & Lili Mathusek, Natalie Pereira, and Sasha Kandybin is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming services. The band has been performing original arrangements by Joseph Mathusek semi-annually for the Holiday season since 2015.

Alone opens in Millburn!

A live and in-person staged reading opened for two nights at the Black Box theater at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. This was the first time a two-act version of Alone was performed for an audience and featured performers: Alex Good, John Ertman, Maddie Novak, Gray Watson, Andy Hartman, Emmet Smith, Grace Petersen, and Jayne Meyers.

The show also featured a seven-piece orchestra consisting of Keys, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Violins, and a Viola.

Alone complete staged reading announced for Summer 2021

Alone has received a funding opportunity to perform a staged reading of the full show— live and in-person— and has engaged the Black Box at Paper Mill Playhouse as the venue. The full staged reading will include original cast members John Ertman, Alex Good, Andy Hartman, Maddie Novak, and Gray Watson as well as new ensemble actors and a 7-piece band. Alone (One Hour Cut)- Streaming April 2-11

The American Music Theatre Project has announced that Alone will begin streaming on their Youtube channel on April 2, 2021, at 7:30 pm (CST). The reading will be available to stream for free until April 11, 2021. Selections from the readings as a part of the Original Northwestern Cast Album will also be released on the Ertman & Mathusek YouTube channel.

Alone (One Hour Cut)- Cast List Announced

The American Music Theatre Project cast of Alone was made official this week!

Alone reading to be produced by American Music Theatre Project

Alone will receive its first workshop and a public performance of a one-hour cut of the show this April as a part of the American Music Theatre Project’s Innaugrual Capstone Festival at Northwestern University.
