Recorded at acclaimed recording studios all around the North East including Power Station New England Studio A, Reservoir Studios, The Bridge, and Birs Studios, Alone: The Concept Album brings a polished and refined Broadway sound to Ertman & Mathusek’s debut musical outing. Featuring nine songs out of a twenty-three song score, along with some of Broadway’s top young stars and up-and-comers stepping into the shoes of small-town teens Mia, Jack, Cam, Kelly, and Ryan. Each song on the album features a different cast of singers and each one was approached with a unique purpose of highlighting its individual spirit as well as its place in a pivotal original story about growing up, falling in love, and discovering oneself.
Running Away: Track 1 features Mia (Taylor Iman Jones), Alone’s protagonist, at the beginning of the show. It is an hour before High School graduation and Mia is having buyer’s remorse about staying close to home for college in order to appease her mom.
Build A Bridge: After Mia (Linedy Genao) connects with her crush-from-afar, Jack (Adi Roy), at a graduation party, she and Jack go on a first date where he tries to help her with her college woes.
Leveling Up: Jack and Mia aren’t the only couple to come out of the graduation party. His best friend Cam (Ellis Gage) and Mia’s best friend Kelly (Rachel Webb) connect over a mutual love of Call of Duty. This song sees them playing a match with each other for the first time.
If I Were You: Kelly (Kaela O’Connor) gives Mia (Rachel Arianna) advice when her relationship with Jack is moving faster than anticipated. But Kelly’s frustrations about her slow-moving relationship with Cam may be influencing her advice. May.
Wildfire: Jack (Nathan Levy) tries to call his friend Ryan (Michael Nigro) for advice. Ryan, however, is the town gossip and begins to spread rumors and information about Jack and Mia’s relationship to everyone through a massive game of telephone. But what happens when one of those rumors happens to be true… Also featuring Ellis Gage as Cam, Cassidy Sledge as Kelly, and Claire Kwon as Mia.
Distance: Mia (Sarah-Anne Martinez) debates how to break the news that [spoilers] to her mom.
Tearing Down Walls: After finding out about the [spoiler] Jack (Zachary Noah Piser) prepares to run away but finds the prospect of abandoning Mia much more difficult. Mia (Taylor Iman Jones) prepares to run away from home as well but finds Jack waiting outside her window.
Alone: Mia (Kim Onah) despairs after [spoilers], feeling more isolated, alone, and ostracized from her family, friends, and hometown than ever before.
Inevitable (Finale): Mia (Cassidy Sledge) and Jack (John Ertman) reconcile, deciding to take things one day at a time and acknowledging that forging out on your own doesn’t mean doing so alone. The two reunite with their friends Kelly (Natalie Pereira), Cam (Gray Watson), and Ryan (Andy Hartman), as well as Mia’s mother, Cassie, all of whom are ready to truly grow up and move on with life, together.
